Jim and Terri Gawith chose the Dutch Shepherd breed for its great versatility, intelligence and their strong protective instinct. Having young grandchildren around, it was important for us to have a breed that we were confident the children were safe and protected. The Dutch Shepherd is not only a great family dog, but can be used for herding, search and rescue, service companions, K9/military and many other disciplines.
The Dutch Shepherd has long life expectancy at 12-15 years and avoids many of the health issues that plague other shepherd breeds.
The Dutch Shepherd is an extremely loving and loyal breed. We socialize and interact with them from birth to give them the start to being your life long companion. Our puppies get to socialize not only with our family and other dogs, but cats, horses and other animals.
